Description

In this particular set, I was figuring out a food chain that could work out with this individual set alone. These creatures are aquatic in nature, and thrive in the methane lakes of the planet they're from. With Tertiawing, it's preyed upon by Simulitrapper, which in turn is preyed upon by Metaniconuell. The lattermost is likewise preyed upon by Tertiawing, and the cycle repeats. However, there is also the Wild Card that is Orcamimus. Orcamimus can prey on all three of the other creatures seen here, and is an apex predator in it's habitat, and it's only predators are others of it's own kind. Even infant Orcamimus have only adults of their species to fear when growing up, and quite literally nothing else. Orcamimus's abilities are designed so that anything within it's habitat that isn't of it's own species can pretty much do nothing to it, or simply ignore it. It's toxic to Tertiawings, Simulitrapper flat out ignores them, and Metaniconuell doesn't prey on them, but will attempt to shoo them away if threatened. However, they will instead try to flee when facing an adult. Orcamimus, in this habitat, is less like an Orca, and more like a Falcon in terms of how quickly it moves through the methane lakes. It's speed is so fast it's like a living Deus Ex Machina; appearing and snatching it's prey so quickly that is subsequently disappears as if it were never there. Speeds documented by the Orcawing tend to be approximately 600 mph at maximum. All four of these creatures, like all creatures on this planet, reproduce asexually, and don't rely on other individuals to breed. That is, however, except for one particular species, which I'll document more in-depth when I have the details finalized.

Summarized Notes on each of them:

Tertiawing is approximately 4'01" long, with a wingspan of 8'05".
Simulitrapper is approximately 6'03" wide.
Metaniconuell is approximately 5'11" long.
Orcamimus is approximately 9'05" long, with a wingspan of 19'03".

-Tertiawing is basically this planet's equivalent to a Seagull. It flies through the air, not far above methane lakes, and takes it's prey from diving in the methane and quickly snatching it and rising back into the air. A subspecies appears to exist that is entirely aquatic, and another subspecies that lives further inland exists. They look similar, but have differing colorations. It's also rumored that Tertiawing is the ancestral species to Orcamimus, but it is unable to be determined a DNA sample of the latter has yet to be successfully obtained at all.
-Simulitrapper traps Tertiawings by mimicking the Tertiawing's prey of choice; Metaniconuell. When Tertiawing draws near, it's lightning fast jaws clamp down on the individual as it begins to devour it's prey just as quickly. This fate is also shared by Tertiawing's aquatic subspecies. It's rumored that Tertiawing is also a pack hunting flyer, and if they do form packs, they can easily turn Simulitrapper into prey instead. However, this is not often, as most Tertiawing seem to avoid others of their kind.
-Metaniconuell is rumored to be related to Metanivore; both of them have only three limbs, and their diets are more unique. In addition to consuming unknown materials that allow regeneration, they prey primarily on Simulitrappers, as they feast on it's root-like feet and promptly devour the rest of the body as well. They leave no traces of their meals behind, and they will often form groups to scavenge if no normal prey is near. Another note, young Metanivores actually high resemble Metaniconuell until they develop their heads more.
-Orcamimus has more relations to a Falcon than it does an Orca. On one hand, Orcamimus is mostly aquatic and has a similar color template. On the other hand, the sheer speed and swiftness of Orcamimus thanks to it's four, signature X-shaped wings allow it to outspeed every other organism on this planet. In addition to living in methane lakes, it can also take to the skies if prey is not abundant enough, but it only does this to seek out other methane lakes. If prey is too minimal, entire swarms of them will attack Metanivores to feast on it's neverending flesh, and then promptly leave once they've all been fed. The only reason Orcamimus hasn't hunted any species to extinction is primarily due to Metanivore's similar migratory paths.
